“The View Isn’t Bad At All…

This “Freelance Freedom” post on Freelance Switch made me smile…because on occasion I work from my building’s rooftop deck, where the view is something like this:

Of course, I’ve already written about how I prefer to freelance – and really, considering the ”oh crap, the web is changing everything, now what do we do?” environment of the media world today, who would want to get a traditional 9-5  job, especially working for a big publication?  Besides, staffers and entire publications (RIP Jane) are getting the shaft left and right.  Freelancing may be unstable and work may not always be steady, but at least you can’t get unexpectedly fired or laid off and therefore lose your entire income stream.
